A prehistoric set where both giant monsters and archaic magic run wild!
Dominance wants you to have the biggest creatures. You get rewards for having creatures with high power. Specifically, it reads “If you control a creature with the greatest power, [effect].” Sometimes, multiple creatures will be tied for the greatest power. If that happens, as long as you control at least one of those creatures, you will be dominant enough for the ability.
Hemomancy is a fancy way to say blood magic. You are encouraged to pay life to cast spells instead of mana. Specifically, it reads “You may pay life to cast this spell. Each 2 life pays for {1}.” Notably, you still have to pay colored mana costs, so not everything is free here.
Swarm X is a mechanic all about overrunning your opponents with an army. Your creatures won’t mind dying as much when they know they will be replaced. Specifically, it reads “When this creature dies, create X 1/1 white Insect Soldier creature tokens.” Don’t be afraid to go to war and attack aggressively since you are sure to get something out of it!
Tame is all about making scary creatures docile. With this, you may want to slow down your opponent and control how hard they can hit you. Specifically, it reads “To tame a creature, turn it face down as a 2/2 creature. It’s controller may turn it face up any time for its mana cost.” While you can slow down creatures, eventually their master will be able to harness their true strength again, so watch out!
Evoke {Cost} is a returning mechanic that allows your creatures to act like instants and sorceries, netting you value however you see fit. Specifically, it reads “You may cast this spell for its evoke cost. If you do, it’s sacrificed when it enters the battlefield.” The use of evoke lets you customize how best to play your creatures and always get what you want.
